E. Lane Redmond’s short story “The First Crowned Heart” has been selected as a finalist in the New Orleans Public Library’s Summer Fun Adult Writing Contest and will be featured in the Library’s Renewed anthology.
“The First Crowned Heart” takes readers into the world of The Krewe, exploring an earlier piece of the history behind the dark legacy at the center of the series.
The selection marks another milestone for Redmond as she continues expanding The Krewe beyond the novels and sharing more of the world, history, and horror surrounding the series.
After the selection, Adult Programming Librarian Shelby Goddard shared that she had enjoyed the story and was excited to include it in the anthology.
For Redmond, the recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the New Orleans Public Library, and for a story rooted in the same city, culture, history, and Southern Gothic atmosphere that shape so much of her work.
More information about Renewed and the anthology’s release will be shared as it becomes available.
